Growing up bilingual in English and Portuguese and later gaining significant experience in the design and testing of military and commercial jet engines, George has applied his technical and management skills to the translation industry. His background helps ensure that the translations his company provides meet high standards of clarity and precision, crucial for both technical and corporate communications. George personally interacts with clients to understand and meet their specific needs, often assisting in enhancing their original English documents to improve the overall quality of translations. I'm George B. Ottoni, founder and president of Vice-Versa Translations Services. My career began in engineering at GE Aerospace, where I earned multiple Achievement Awards for my engineering quality and a Managerial Award for resolving a critical telemetry issue for our French partner, SNECMA. This experience in high-stakes environments shaped my approach to translations, emphasizing precision and reliability.
In 1999, Vice-Versa became the sole provider of Spanish translations for all Procter & Gamble businesses, a role we maintained until 2004. Our expertise was also recognized by NASA when I was selected to translate the Space Walk Manual for Brazil's first astronaut, Lieutenant Colonel Marcos Pontes.
Outside of work, I am passionate about sailing, a hobby inspired by my childhood by the ocean. I've collected and raced model sailboats since childhood and later sailed my yacht from Cincinnati to Miami. In 2014, I earned a Yacht Broker's License and recently became a Certified Professional Yacht Broker. I also speak multiple languages, a skill that has been invaluable in both my early career and at Vice-Versa. For over 31 years, we've built a reputation for quality without a single customer complaint, thanks to a dedicated team of translators who consistently meet deadlines and exceed expectations.
